Foxearth and Liston Parish Council – Report of meeting held on 23rd Jan 2016

The Foxearth and Liston Parish Council met on 23rd January with Councillor Mrs Corinne Cox in the Chair and 13 members of the public present.

Principal matters discussed were:

Co-opted member: The resignation of Richard Morris was noted. it was agreed to extend to 28th February the period during which interested people to fill the vacancy could submit their names for a decision to be made at the March meeting.

Flooding in Foxearth: County Highways hope to begin the work of installing a pipe to carry away surface water – bypassing the culvert – by the end of March. Details plans available in about 4 weeks.

Stafford Park: No further news of any prospective redevelopment. It is understood that the planning authority is awaiting financial, pollution and site viability information. Also the Environment Agency requires more information about site flooding and other issues. Thus a planning proposal is unlikely before 2017.

Fly-tipping: Cllr Keith Robson voiced concern at a particular incident and mentioned that Braintree DC now has an app. on its web site to facilitate the reporting of episodes.

Liston quiet lane: Cllr. Tony Clayton stated that this designation had been approved by Braintree DC subject to £6,000 funding being available.

Local Highways Panel: The panel is keen to know of any desired improvements in the villages – such as vehicle activated signs. Suggestions to the Clerk.

Defibrillator: Further to a suggestion at the last meeting that a defibrillator be placed in the Foxearth telephone box, the Chairman said that she would follow this up with the British Heart Foundation. The use of equipment would probably be dependent upon “first responders” being on hand – as is the case in Glemsford.

Email, IT,Telecommunications and Broadband Working Parties: Nothing further to report on these but agreed that Mr William Binks (Liston) be co-opted.

Planning: Decisions on previously reported applications noted. No objection expressed to new request for tree work at a residence in Foxearth.

Precept for 2016/17: This, as presented by The Clerk, was approved.

Next meeting: Saturday 19th March 2016, Foxearth Village Hall at 10.30am.
