Foxearth Church Heritage Initiative

Following the successful launch of this community project (HLF funded) in Foxearth Village Hall in December 2012, it is proposed to hold the first of a series of workshops & support meetings for all residents on TUESDAY 19th.MARCH 2013 at 7.00pm in Foxearth Village Hall.

Everyone is welcome to attend, especially those residents who were not able to attend the initial launch. You can find out more about the project and how you can be involved in creating a historical record of life in Foxearth both today and in the past which will be stored in a UK digital archive for future posterity.

There will be an opportunity to use archives and look at a variety of Census returns for |Foxearth, to help you find out more about the house in which you live today and who lived there in the past!

Several residents have already filled in the first & second template sheets for recording the History of Our House….please bring them along to the meeting or deliver them to me at The Old School House, School Street, Foxearth. If you haven’t received your forms yet, please contact me : or tel: 01787 379410 and I will send the template forms to you.

At the meeting you can find out our plans for fieldwalking and test-pit digging in the parish….we have had several offers for locations from interested landowners and residents already….why not dig a test-pit in your own garden? You will get expert help & advice.

You can also find out about our programme for video interviews.

Come along to the meeting (refreshments provided) and join in our all age community heritage project which will culminate in the opening of a mini-heritage centre inside Foxearth Church at the end of the year.
