Public Rights of Way and Dog Walkers

The council has received a complaint from Brook Hall Farm that dog walkers are allowing their dogs to roam in the fields and to enter the bird covers located around the farm.

This disturbs the birds at best and results in their maiming or killing at worst.

You are respectfully reminded that all land around the parishes is privately owned with the greater part being farmed. The public have a legal right to use the designated public rights of way but in doing so have a legal obligation to keep dogs under close control.

Your council works hard to maintain this network for the benefit of residents and this is best achieved where we have the cooperation of the landowner.

We ask that you support us in this purpose by keeping to the rules.
