In Search of Secret Suffolk

On Tuesday 8th September. Robert Leader, who had stepped to fill the gap when the original speaker was unable to come, gave an interesting talk with slides called “In Search of Secret Suffolk.”

Sixteen members saw over 100 pictures accompanied by a commentary which consisted of historical and factual information. Mr Leader kept us all entertained for well over an hour.

He explained how he became interested in this type of activity after being an author of crime novels for many years. He took a photographic course and then concentrated on photographing his home county.

The theme of his talk was to follow the course of all the counties’ rivers from the source to the sea illustrating his journeys with his varied collection of slides.

Mr Leader answered questions from the members and he was warmly thanked by the chairman Alan Fitch.

Next meeting 8 pm. Tuesday October 13th. “Jodrell Bank” by Tony Dagnall

Building at the Village Hall

The trustees of the Village Hall are pleased to announce that the contract to build the new toilet block at the Village Hall has been awarded to J.L Goodwin – General Builder with Project Supervision by Business Services. Both are Sudbury based firms so we are pleased to be supporting local tradesmen. The decision was made last week at a meeting of the Trustees when three quotes for the work were considered.

It is hoped to start work in early October with the project envisaged to last about six weeks. We shall be taking photographs of the work in progress and posting regular reports on the web site to keep you informed.
