Public Footpaths (P3 -Parish Paths Partnerships)

As the keen walkers amongst you will have noticed we have been gradually improving the footpaths around the Parish but we are aware that there is still work to do. We have been concentrating on installing waymarker posts so that there is no doubt of which way to go when out on a walk. Essex County Council have been putting in footbridges over the watercourses and doing some other repair work on steps and stiles. The local farmers are playing their part in restablishing the field paths, in particular on Brook Hall, where we would like to thank Sean Maskell for all his work and co-operation. Our thanks also to David Jackson for putting in the new kissing gates on the Church Path and at Cardinals Farm.

We hope to be putting in more kissing gates on other paths to increase access for those who find climbing stiles difficult. Additionally we are meeting with our P3 rep from ECC next week to talk about some access issues so if you have anything you would like us to raise, please give me, David Busby, a call on 310130.

Lastly, we need some help to maintain the paths, especially now in the growing season. If you can spare some time to be part of a work party, we would be very grateful. Again please contact me so I can draw up a list.
